Unit 1
Exploring our Brain

• What is my brain and how does it function?
• How do I build habits that support brain health and friendship with others?

Lower elementary students are more naturally inquisitive and love learning big words. We’ve taken this opportunity to teach them basic brain anatomy and physiology along with the basic principle of neuroplasticity which tells us our brain has the capacity to grow and change.

Unit 2
Promoting Brain Health

• How do I keep my brain healthy?

The lessons in this unit focus on different factors that affect brain health and how we can build healthy habits to optimize our brain function. Students get to experience each of the habits discussed in a tangible way through practical, hands-on learning activities.

Unit 3
Understanding Emotional Intelligence

• How do I understand and manage feelings in healthy ways?

Building on the foundational understanding of the brain, the lower elementary level curriculum spends most of the semester unpacking practical skills relating to emotional intelligence that help students start increasing their EQ from an early age.

Unit 4
Untangling Our Thoughts

• How do I recognize and untangle tangled thoughts?

Unit 4 elaborates on a key component of managing our emotions: examining our thoughts. Students are taught crucial skills in identifying and disputing thoughts.
